Procrastination is one of those topics that can have multiple layers. The reason why you procrastinate could be any number of things.
Check out these earlier posts if you suspect perfectionism or “control freak” tendencies lie under your procrastination. Perhaps though a lack of acceptance for life being imperfect could be tied up with your procrastination.
Right now we’re going to explore the link between procrastination and pure lazy habits.
Many of us know what we have to do. Many of us are fully aware that we may not be doing our daily tasks to our best potential. Many of us know, admit and broadcast the fact that we do procrastinate.
We may even on the surface feel proud that we procrastinate and declare that we can’t change who we are. That procrastinating is part and parcel of being human. Personally I don’t believe that is true.
I believe that is an excuse to make up for lazy mental thinking and lazy habits.
If there is something you want to do in your life that you are not doing, then you need to honor it. If you have a burning desire to do something, then you owe it to yourself (and the world) to do it.
Procrastination is simply not acceptable.
Dive down deep and uncover what is behind your procrastination. If you are determined and committed to finding out why, then you will find out.
Use EFT to tap on the following EFT setup phrases…
- “Even though I have been hiding under the umbrella of procrastination when really I have lazy habits, I deeply and completely love and accept myself. I now choose to step into my own life and do what I was put on earth to do.”
- “Even though I don’t know the root behind my procrastination and I’m scared to find out, I deeply and completely love and accept myself. I now choose to embrace my fear, anxiety and insecurities and trust that solving my procrastination will cause ripples of good across my life.”
- “Even though deep down I know exactly what I should be doing, yet I’m ignoring doing it, I deeply and completely love and accept myself. I now choose to embrace a new mindset.”
Embracing a new mindset may seem daunting, yet it can and must be done. Change can happen overnight, yet how long it takes you will depend on your level of resistance and how willing you are.
Switching your mindset involves you thinking that you “can’t” to thinking that you “can”. It involves switching your actions from what you are currently doing to doing something new.
It involves making a switch from making excuses to admitting your fear… yet refusing your fear to stop you.
Switch one word for another. Stop saying “no”. And say “yes”. Embrace life and do tasks that allow you to live the life you were born to live.
Being willing is all you need to start. If I can, you can.
